Accuracy over completeness

Where a requirement, threshold, or figure needs current verification, we say so and point you to the authority that decides it, usually the Italian consulate serving your state or a licensed professional. We would rather publish an honest gap than a confident guess.

Sample and illustrative figures

Some pages use example numbers to show how a calculation or comparison works. These are labeled as illustrative on the page. They are not researched estimates and should never be used as a budget on their own.

Expert review

Guidance touching immigration, tax, healthcare, or property is intended for review by a qualified professional in the relevant jurisdiction. A reviewer name appears on a page only after that person has reviewed that page. Placeholder reviewer profiles on this site are marked as placeholders and are not real people.

Last reviewed dates

Every guide shows when it was last reviewed, not just when it was published. Rules change, and a 2019 article with no date is worse than no article.

Pages in research

Routes that exist in our architecture but are not yet written to standard are published as clearly marked stubs and excluded from search indexing. We do not publish thin pages to capture traffic.

Sources

Guides carry a visible source section. We prefer primary sources: Italian government and consular material, U.S. federal agencies, and official health service information, over secondary summaries.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Write to editors@retiringinitaly.example or use the contact page. Substantive corrections update the last reviewed date.

Commercial independence

There are no sponsors, affiliate links, or paid placements on this site today. In future we intend to introduce vetted service partners in categories readers need. When we do: any commercial relationship will be disclosed on the same screen as the recommendation, no provider will appear without documented vetting, payment will never buy editorial coverage or a favorable assessment, and we will not publish testimonials or endorsements we cannot verify.
